I've come around a lot of depression, anxiety and even self persecution due to self esteem issues. Possibly the biggest is the remote understanding of peace and coexistence. It's not to say it's impossible, but there are sadly, some very deep roots, at least for the U.S., that have yet to come undone. The abuse of religion is everywhere. From what I understand, Christians often speak of America having it's roots founded on their philosophy, which I'm assuming is due to the religious persecution of the settlers from the church of England. I can also see this in terms as how a nation of independents can also deepen a horrid pride thanks to what I can only say is the "You are special" law. Heaven and Hell. If you believe you're a good man, nothing stops you. But if you're going to Hell, then you better stop fucking up. No matter what it is, just stop fucking up. It doesn't matter what the real reason is, just stop fucking up. This is the sole reason why Church vs State is implemented. As much as we want to state that a solid philosophy will help, philosophy does not stop our fears and are concerns. Christians often state that it's impossible evolution exists and from what I understand, even after the thought of "well, if God made the world, how come he didn't make evolution?" comes into play, the entire matter is considered as usurping God's power. As much as I deeply hate religion and feel all of them should be thrown and forgotten. I do understand there are still good Christians out there, those who seek humanity over rules. But as long as there is a Christian Broadcast Network, but no Judaic Broadcasting Company, Muslim, or otherwise on the public airwaves, I can only assume that they brave their humanity as equal to their success.
But if I were to really show my bitterness, it would have to be from highschool. As much as I'd like to shrug it off, it seems to be present well after they graduate. They will use your anger as a sign of a victory and ignore it as a sign of mental health, or they'll abuse the point of "science has everything covered" to the point where the entire arguement becomes a pointlessly bitter battle of the schlongs.
I hope to God those Christians who are brandishing ethics of humanity are earnest. The Westboro may have laid the groundwork as to how vile and loathesome religion may be, but anyone with a sense of dignity would know they're pricks.
